There will always be those who don't believe in you or your dreams.
Worse yet, they will laugh at you and your passion for something.
They will say that you are crazy for trying and it’s better to just quit. Still, others will say you are too self-absorbed or full of yourself; You think you’re special.
And yes, there will be those too, cherished loved ones and friends, who will choose to leave you and your journey and your friendship. And of all the complications of life, this can be the most painful.
But, there is a simple and easy way to avoid all of these criticisms, hurt feelings from being laughed at, and self-doubt.
Just look deep inside yourself and understand who you truly are and what you believe you were meant to accomplish in this world and then simply say nothing, do nothing and be nothing…
That's it! If you follow this simple technique, no one will ever laugh at you or your dreams. Rarely will anyone criticize your work or your strongly held beliefs. In fact, most people won't even notice you at all.
There will be many people you love who will love you back and support your dreamless life because, like you, their love is conditional on you agreeing with them and them agreeing with you.
You won’t have self-doubt or fears of failure because you will only choose to do those things that are safe and have a relatively high probability of success. And because of this, if you decide to do anything at all worthy of any meaning, they will more than likely be easy and mindless tasks with just enough effort necessary to make you feel productive.
The best part is that you will never, ever be judged.
And even if by some strange reason you are judged, not to worry; Those “loved ones” I mentioned earlier will rush to your defense, because that’s part of the conditions of their love (“I agree with you, and you agree with me”).
I’ve found that no one ever really cares much one way or the other when I don’t follow my dreams, my passions or my talents.
If, however, you’ve decided that you want to go for all that life has to offer — that you want to live a life of meaning and purpose based on what you believe to be meaningful and important then judgment, self-doubt, failure, criticism (internal and external) and the potential leaving behind of long-standing friendships and loved ones are all part of the price of admissions to the life of your dreams.
“Gratitude and acceptance tell the universe that you’re ready for the unimaginable.” -Overheard this in an elevator
Whatever your dream, whatever your passion, whatever that thing is that you just know you were put here to do and to become but you just haven’t accepted whether or not you know if it’s real — let that spark shine bright, hang tight and follow your heart.
At worst you will fail, but if you fail, you will fail with purpose. And even that has meaning, in the end.
